Thanks..I agree with you on making weddings a memorable one as after all its a one big event in our life time

But the point I would like to drive is for the stake-holders to not get into ugly display of wealth — Like for eg ,

Having 10 diff varierty of sweets , soooooooo many variety of Indian breads and name a side dish and make tat available.. The reality is after seeing all of these at one sight , you just dont even feel like picking more than 2 sweets .. Where do they all then go ?In most of the cases into the garbage..

Purchasing real real grand sarees that its soooo heavy you dont get to wear them anytime after wedding at all

In a nut shell weddings try flaunting on all possible spends in all possible ways

The last point tat u did mention need to really gear up where the bride and the groom make a sensible choice of what needs to be there rather than have them for the sake of having it

Weddings need to have sensible spending rather than competitive spending !

Cynical about wedding spends? I would say weddings are a great way to extend your warmth, genuine love and affection to near and dear ones. Family, friends and society are an integral part of our existence. For many, a wedding is the only occasion to celebrate and share the happiness with the whole world! I would say, if you have the money and want to be generous with it, please indulge your guests. These sweet memories linger with you for life.

If your finances are just about sufficient and you need to be frugal, use your discretion. The idea of flaunting at a wedding for social status is something that I definitely don’t subscribe for.

I think our generation has progressed and advanced sufficiently to stand up and say what we feel about our wedding expenditures! If the bride and groom are not comfortable with the expenditure their parents are incurring, they should either volunteer to bear the expenses, or have the wedding their own modest way. There are no two ways about it.

Parents in many a times think this spend to be a social status decision that they tend to compare it with all preparations in an immediate wedding before ..

With so many changes , if the gal and guy decide that marriage can be made in a simple yet memorable way , they can definetly exert an influence on parents

If I cud have my way, I would not have spent so much on the wedding.. That money can certainly be used in much much much better ways!

Apart from that am sure If each individual takes that extra mileage to make a difference by car pooling , am sure we can see its benefits in near future ..
